J. Bert Smith, M.Sc., P.Eng., FEC

Bert is a founding member of KGS Group and has over 40 years of experience with detailed site investigation, design and project management for hydrogeological, geotechnical and environmental related projects.

His expertise includes dams and other water retaining structures, bridge abutments, structure foundations analysis of groundwater related issues and water supply, as well as contaminant assessment and site remediation.

As a Principal of KGS Group, Bert is responsible for overall management of staff, design direction and review and project management for all geotechnical, hydrogeological, environmental and geomatics related projects. He also serves as a member of our board of directors.
