Municipal Technologist Co-op Student
KGS Group is seeking multiple Municipal Engineering Technologist Summer Students for 2025! Reporting to both our Municipal and Transportation Departments, you will work on variety of infrastructure projects such as road rehabilitations/reconstructions, sewer and water renewal projects, and various land development projects. Your daily responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with Surveys (Total Station, GPS, Rod and Level).
- Working closely with the design team to address contractor concerns.
- Assisting with civil engineering models and drawings on AutoCAD.
- Gathering technical information for reports, specifications and analysis.
- Performing basic design calculations and reviewing them with the project team.
- Effectively communicating information and ideas to the project team and coworkers.
- Conducting onsite inspection of construction works.
- Onsite design layout on construction sites.
- Completing field reports and documenting site observations.
Your Qualifications and abilities
- Currently enrolled as a student in a Civil Engineering Technology Program,
- Good working knowledge of surveying with a Rod and Level,
- Good working knowledge of AutoDesk AutoCAD and Microsoft office software,
- Able to work overtime,
- Able to travel if required,
- Willing and able to perform site inspection work,
- Have a Class 5 Driver's License,
- Able to meet tight deadlines while producing accurate and highly detailed data,
- Able to work efficiently and effectively with little supervision,
- Able to work individually and with a team,
- Willingness to learn new software programs,
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
