Senior Pursuit Team Lead

KGS Group is looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Senior Pursuit Team Lead as a foundational leader in our new operations group – Business Development System & Pursuits (BDSP). In this integral role, you will provide management and training to our developing pursuit team of specialists, along with directly managing proposal strategy and process leadership on key pursuits. The Role

We’re looking for unique! In this role you will be a key leader of the core pursuit team, and as Senior Pursuit Team Lead, you will:

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing all requests for proposal support and assigning appropriate resources as needed.
  • Day-to-day oversight of Proposal One-Stop-Shop resource updates and proposing new initiatives.
  • Provide training to new / early career Proposal Coordinators.
  • Manage the complete bid preparation process, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all proposal submissions.
  • Analyze and review bid requests with a high attention to detail, ensuring responses are fully compliant with listed requirements (i.e., RFP / RFI / RFQ / etc.) for new and existing business opportunities.
  • End-to-end management of pursuit lifecycle coaching to improve proposal response and win rate.
  • Facilitate strategy meetings with pursuit teams to develop actionable win strategies that address client needs.
  • Leverage proposal management / development best practices including project management of internal deadlines, developing compliance matrix to analyze content, and developing project-specific value propositions for high quality final deliverables.
  • Project manage, gather, research, and assemble all required documentation and information from relevant parties / sources, maintaining responsibility of the full document with direct responsibility for the corporate elements (i.e., firm overview, personnel bios, project experience, compliance requirements, etc.).
  • Coordinate with the Proposal Manager / Champion for the technical elements (i.e., methodology, project understanding, schedule, fees, etc.), write / review / edit content for clarity, compliance, singular voice, and key messaging.
  • Work closely with other pursuit team members to ensure submissions align with the bid strategy / plan, as well as the technical leads / operational environment.
  • Oversee and coach any junior BDSP personnel assigned to pursuit.
  • Contribute to continuous learning and growth through internal and external post-mortems and debriefs.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
  • The successful candidate will be on-site or hybrid from any KGS Group Canadian location. Remote work is negotiable for the right candidate.

About You

We’re looking for prior senior experience in marketing / business development specific to proposal development and effective verbal, written, and visual communication skills. A high level of attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines are extremely important keys to success in this role. Here are some ideal qualifications for this role:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; in lieu, additional relevant experience will be considered.
  • 5 to 7 years of proposal management experience, with at least 3 years managing a team of proposal specialists.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian A/E/C market and familiarity with pursuits in a diverse array of market sectors.
  • Advanced ability with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint / OneDrive, Teams).
  • Advanced command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat Pro); Intermediate level for Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as strong detail orientation.
  • Analytical and general business skills with an ability to process information quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to inspire outstanding work from pursuit team members that have a range of experience and technical abilities.
  • Self-motivated and driven.
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek out answers.
  • Capable of adapting to changing priorities in a very dynamic work environment and demonstrating the ability to work in stressful situations with critical deadlines (evening and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines).
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
