Structural Technologist (Winnipeg)
KGS Group is looking for a Structural Technologist to join our Hydro Structural Group with 0-3 years of experience in the drafting and/or engineering technology related to water resource infrastructure, hydroelectric projects, or heavy civil construction to join our well-established, Winnipeg Office.

The Role
In this role, you’ll work in a multidisciplinary team environment in our Winnipeg office to prepare and review civil/structural engineering designs and related documents. As a Structural Technologist, your Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in drawing file management, plotting and delivery at entry level.
- Assist in preparation of structural and civil engineering report figures, conceptual, preliminary, detailed design, and as-built drawings with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and MicroStation using defined drafting standards.
- Importing and working with survey data to develop 3D design surfaces.
- 3D modeling of structures for design assistance, clash detection and drawing preparation.
- Perform basic calculations and present them in a logical and organized manner.
- Effectively and accurately communicate information and ideas.
- Keeping the project team and department managers advised of work progress, challenges and issues.
- Opportunity to perform periodic site visits or construction inspection in support of project development or in support of ongoing construction.
- Providing construction support including review of contractor drawings, coordination of team submissions, shop drawings review and other submittal review in support of the engineering team.
About You
To fill the role, we are looking for an applicant who possess excellent knowledge in CAD. Some highlights could include, but are not limited to:
- Graduate from a two or three-year civil engineering technology program.
- Registered or eligible to be registered with CTTAM is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2020 or newer versions.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 or newer versions would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Revit 2020 or newer versions would be an asset.
- Knowledge of MicroStation Software would be an asset.
- Knowledge of Prostructures Software would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of CSA S16, CSA A23 and W59 would be an asset.
- Working knowledge with survey and import of survey data would be an asset.
- Previous construction supervision experience would be an asset.
- Technical aptitude and a desire to further develop technical knowledge and learn new software.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Work independently and effectively as an individual and with a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
