Surveyor

KGS Group is seeking a Surveyor to join our growing survey team in Saskatchewan. With offices in Regina and Saskatoon, KGS Group is looking for someone in either office who will bring their experience, skills, and interest to this fast-growing group.

The Role

With a focus on project delivery, you will be responsible for managing tasks and survey responsibilities for various clients throughout Saskatchewan. The selected candidate will be required to perform a range of field surveys including but not limited to construction grade staking, topographic, quantity, volume, preliminary, and layout surveys. Daily tasks may include attending and contributing to safety meetings, recording accurate collection of measurements and as-builts, record keeping and preparation of field notes, setting control, and working within a team.

In this role, you will become an onsite surveyor. The ability to work and travel to project sites will be required throughout all seasons. Vehicles, per diems, and out-of-town accommodation will be provided.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate GPS survey instruments and software.
  • Establish and monitor control points.
  • Perform RTK site surveys as required including topographic cross sections, quantity surveys, second grading, utility locations, culvert markers, and general site services.
  • Design calculations and reporting.
  • Contributing to a positive safety culture.
  • Other tasks as required.

About You

To fill the role, we’re looking for an applicant with the following qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of surveying experience.
  • Completion of a 2-year survey technician program would be considered a strong asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently, and within tight timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
