Modern tunnelling technologies are required to address many of today’s municipal challenges including stormwater collection, combined sewer separation and flood protection. The science behind these technologies involves an understanding of several overarching engineering disciplines including municipal engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, hydrologic/hydraulic engineering, and hydrogeology.
